Royal Canberra Show

2011 [See below] | 2006 Results |

The 2010 Royal Canberra Show had a good turnout of Corriedales with about 40 sheep.

Major prizes went to Badgally stud with champion ram and champion ewe.

The Badgally ewe was unlucky not to win the Longwool Interbreed as she was feminine and very true to type.

It is very encouraging to see the quality of sheep that St. Gregory’s are producing.

Roseville sheep were of a high quality, decisions could have gone either way. St. Gregory’s also won the best longwool exhibited by a school.

Champion ram: St. Gregory’s College – Badgally

About the Breed

The Corriedale was simultaneously evolved in both Australia and New Zealand about 1874 by selectively breeding from cross bred progeny of pure Merino and Lincoln sheep.
