Results of Blue Ribbon Corriedale Sale

Stanbury on West Cloven Hills was the host stud for the recent Corriedale Blue Ribbon Sale.

Stud rams sold to $3500, averaging $866, using the Helsman system for buyers.
47 rams in total sold to $3500 averaging $866

Loddon Park  sold the top-priced ram  for $3500 and another ram for $3000
The stud averaged $1355 for 10 rams

Compton Park and Gambier View studs offered their top ram for $3100
Their stud averaged $758 for 31 rams, with flock rams selling to $1400

Sweetfield sold 3 rams to $1000 averaging $717

Stanbury sold flock rams to $500

About the Breed

The Corriedale was simultaneously evolved in both Australia and New Zealand about 1874 by selectively breeding from cross bred progeny of pure Merino and Lincoln sheep.
